Announcement

On Wednesday, August 31, at 2 p.m. EDT, IACET will host a Virtual Town hall Meeting for continuing education and training (CE/T) providers or others operating in the engineering profession. The purpose of the interactive Virtual Town Hall Meeting is to examine and discuss how IACET is recognized in the engineering profession by state governments and industry related associations. In addition, IACET will discuss possible formation of an Engineering Advisory Board that can provide critical guidance on how to best work with these diverse professions.

Engineering has broad categories consisting of civil, mechanical, electrical, and chemical just to name a few. IACET serves a number of providers in each of these specific areas. IACET has identified the need to place greater emphasis on ensuring its brand is recognized in the engineering space and needs guidance from people in the profession on how to do that.

The goals of an Engineering Advisory Board would be to:
  1. Guide IACET in more fully serving engineering professions in the area of CE/T standards.
  2. Assist IACET in achieving maximum recognition of its accreditation as the uniform standard for instructional design and delivery of CE/T.
The agenda for the IACET Engineering Town Hall will be:
  • Welcome from IACET’s Chairman, Lori Schnaider, from Michael Baker International.
  • Overview of how the engineering profession recognizes IACET currently.
  • Discussion on ways IACET can improve its service to the engineering profession.
  • Identify engineering leaders who have a passion for education and want to promote high standards.
  • Preview IACET’s new competency based CE/T initiative.

If you are interested in attending, even if you are currently unsure if you can attend or not, please register here https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/5829371333424610052 Your registration will help IACET gauge the interest level in this initiative and serve as an initial list of interested parties.
