During its annual meeting on September 24, 2015 in Chicago, IL, the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) will present its 2015 Awards. These honorees are deserving individuals, innovators, projects, or programs who have significantly contributed to the field of continuing education and training. 

 

  • The IACET Distinguished Service Award will recognize Mary Ellen Hable for her exceptional service and major leadership to IACET.
  • The IACET Exemplar Training Organization Award will recognize NASA/APPEL for their exemplary, results-oriented program.  We will also recognize the School of Continuing Education of The American University in Cairo with an honorable mention
  • The IACET Innovation of the Year Award – Learner Engagement will be presented to SAE International as the “best-of-the-best” in engagement and the classroom learning environment.
  • The IACET Innovation of the Year Award – Technology Integration recognizes the “best-of-the-best” in technology integration and innovation and this year will be presented to theFederal Highway Administration’s National Highway Institute.

In addition to the awards presentation, Dr. William Rothwell will present the findings from a recent research study in talent development. Through a collaborative partnership between ATD, Rothwell & Associates and IACET, the research team led by Dr. Rothwell implemented a study to investigate these questions: “Have the competencies of instructional design changed? Should they change? How has instructional design (ID) evolved over the past few decades?”
